Sunnyvale is proud to announce the re-signing of all time leading goal scorer Eric Middlebrook today. The team was unsure if Middlebrook would return this season after missing the majority of last season for undisclosed reasons. He lead the team in goals in the inaugural 2014 season, and managed to score four times last season, despite only playing 2 out of team's 5 games. He has tallied 16 points in 8 career games with the Sunnyvale franchise.

Middlebrook is excited to be back with the team this upcoming season.

"I'm glad that myself and the team were able to work things out in the end. Ultimately, Sunnyvale is the only franchise that I would continue my career with and that led to me staying here."

It is unsure if Middlebrook will stay as an assistant captain for the 2016 season or not and management has no details on it yet.

"First off, we are glad Eric was able to return to Sunnyvale for this upcoming season. He was and always has been one of our most valuable components to this franchise and we as a whole hope that his success continues. As for Eric still holding the assistant captain role, we haven't made a decision on that yet as of this moment. We alleged the idea that we would be switching a few things up for this season in terms of positions and captaincy and we have yet to finalize these decisions."

Eric's brother Mark may make the opening day roster, but at this moment, he will not be listed.
